Ideas towards living more sustainably and saving some money
Buriton is connecting with other local groups including villages between Petersfield and Midhurst who are encouraging people to join them by taking a step or two towards living more sustainably, and maybe saving some money.
Each month they are sharing a ‘Tweak of the Month’ for people to try.
This month’s tweak encourages us all to wash our clothes as sustainably as possible – and it provides a number of tips!
Anything that involves heating up a lot of water will require a lot of energy and so the tweak recommends a low temperature. However, if you think that you may have bed bugs or other pests you may need to wash at higher temperatures to kill them (eg. 60 degrees centigrade for cotton sheets).
Even if you don’t feel that you can adopt all the tips, every little helps. And as the organisers stress: a lot of people doing a little still adds up to a lot!
