“I was born and brought up here,” explains co-founder Jade Styles, “and so I know how lucky we are to be based in the village with the wonderful recreation ground where we can do regular bug hunts. But we’re also close to the village pond and woodlands for fascinating walks - and also close and convenient for many families in Petersfield.”
“Some of the children come here from Clanfield, Horndean and Harting, as well as from Petersfield, and their parents and grandparents love the setting. They can see how much the children enjoy everything,” she adds.
“It all fits with our ethos,” explains Emma Foster who runs the group with Jade. “These children will need a healthy planet later in their lives, so we try to do everything that we can to get them off to a good start.”
“We’re pleased to be able to provide a childcare stepping stone to ‘big school’ and we try to help all our ducklings become independent and ready for that big step. Being next-door to Buriton Primary School and so close to Petersfield is perfect for everyone.”
Local Headteacher, Mrs Danielle Brown, confirms that having the childcare facility nearby is beneficial: “We are very pleased that the Ducklings childcare providers are so close to Buriton Primary School as it provides a great opportunity for parents intending to bring their child to our school, from a number of places as well as from Petersfield, in the future. The children seem to have enjoyable experiences and lots of fun.”
