Including a proposal for new housing in Buriton
The South Downs Local Plan is being reviewed to ensure it is up-to-date and addresses important issues, including how and where development takes place.
Public consultation of this review runs until 17th March. This is the main opportunity for people to influence the final Plan. Feedback will help shape the next version which will be published next year and examined by an independent Inspector.
Seventy-six housing sites are included in the consultation, including one in Buriton.
Once the new Local Plan is adopted in 2027, it will be used to help decide all planning applications in the National Park.
There are opportunities to find out more at a number of drop-in events, including in Petersfield Festival Hall on Wednesday 29th January (6.30pm - 8.30pm). There will be other drop-in events in Liphook (Saturday 1st February, 2-5pm), Lewes (Wednesday 5th February, 6.30pm - 8.30pm) and Petworth (Wednesday 12th February, 3.30pm - 7.30pm).
