Seeing stars ? Saturday 17th November (5.30pm)

A special chance to see wonderful details on the Moon - and to be amazed by the beauty of Orion's Sword. Experts from local astronomical groups will be bringing their telescopes to Buriton on Saturday 17 November - and giving people an opportunity to look and learn.

Starting at 5.30pm in St Mary’s Church, the idea is to use the building as an indoor ‘planetarium’ before everyone goes outside to use telescopes.

Experts will start the evening by giving a short talk in the church: the solar system in fruit.

If the weather is poor, more time can be spent indoors in Buriton’s novel planetarium – but, if it’s clear everyone will move outside.

There will be opportunities to learn what you can see with just your own eyes, as well as to look through a variety of telescopes.

If you have your own equipment, including binoculars, feel free to bring them along.

And please wrap up warm.

There will be a small charge to cover the costs of this event which is being organised by Buriton Village Association: £2 for adults and £1 for children.
