Did you know there was one? Read on for more details ?

Buriton's Youth Club is called ?The Countrysiders? and it meets once a month on a Tuesday evening (6pm - 7.30pm) with a few extra meetings for special occasions.

Forthcoming meetings include Tuesday 22nd November (which will include the AGM and a family quiz) and on Wednesday 7th December (from 7.30pm) the group will be doing a charity fund-raising carol singing event. The January meeting will be on Friday 20th and will involve a trip to the Panto in Petersfield.

The Club is part of the national Young Farmers organisation and is an open youth club, meaning that anyone within membership age can join. The membership age for a young farmers club is 10 to 26, however, at present members of Buriton's Countrysiders are mostly aged 10 to 16.

Club Leader Gwen Woodruffe explains ?The activities we do are what make us unique as a youth club. Yes, it is about friendships and having fun, but we also like to learn, help and achieve. Our members are amazing and we are really proud to be a part of their lives. We also like to raise money for charity through our annual carol singing event, where we get together with many of the ex young farmers and help out at events such as the Buriton Fireworks where we have volunteered for over 10 years.

?We are featured on the County Young Farmers website and also belong to the National Federation of Young Farmers Club. This year the Petersfield Club turned 80, so its roots are very embedded in the area. Many ex members now form part of the local Growmore Club which holds social functions such as quiz's and skittles on a regular basis.?

New members always welcome - but please contact Gwen first to double check the meeting place
