Wicked Little Letters

Littlehampton film

A mystery comedy based on a true scandal

When people in Littlehampton begin receiving crudely insulting letters in the 1920s, a rowdy Irish migrant is charged with the crime.

But, suspecting that something is amiss, the town's women investigate the crimes themselves.

Based on a stranger-than-fiction true story, the film follows two neighbours: deeply conservative local Edith Swan (Olivia Colman) and rowdy Rose Gooding (Jessie Buckley). Two of the finest actresses of their generation can be seen waging war against each other!

Other members of the cast include Timothy Spall (as Edward Swan), Anjana Vasan (as PC Gladys Moss), Joanna Scanlan (as Ann), Dame Eileen Atkins (as Mabel) and Hugh Skinner (as Constable Papperwick).

Warning: this film contains some strong language!
