A concert entitled- Midsummer Music - performed by an all female group.
Ann Pinhey has devised a delightfully varied programme including charming, original pieces for female voices by Faure, Saint-Saens and Poulenc. These are interspersed with duets by Purcell. The concert also includes well-known songs by Schubert and folksong arrangements by Benjamin Britten. Instrumental music will be piano duets, Baroque recorder music, flute music and lively trumpet playing from Lucy Humphris. They shall also be singing her haunting 3 part work, The Open Window.
Admission to the concert is free and the retiring collection is in aid of the Lighting Project at St Mary's.
