A big family event with a range of activities, stalls and demonstrations

Come along with all the family to enjoy a free, fun-packed afternoon in the village hall and on the recreation ground.

From 1pm to 4pm.

Plans are being made for face-painting, a fun dog show, the popular bee hive, bug hunts, cooking demonstrations, some magical moths, some mesmerisingly beautiful owls and much more.

The main theme of this year’s “B-earth Day” is all about nature, wildlife, pollinators and climate issues in the parish.

There’ll be lots of fabulous eco-friendly fun, advice and activities for all ages.

Stalls are due to include bumblebee experts, the Wildlife Trust, the RSPB, HCC’s Pollinator Team, Petersfield’s Climate Action Network, Southern Water, Petersfield Cycle Buddies, Buriton’s Thermal Image Camera team … and more.

The developers of the ReCharge One ‘eco-lodge’ site near Greenway Lane will also be there to describe their plans and answer any questions.

And there’ll be a chance to compete in arty, nature-friendly competitions.

Although there’ll be a serious message behind the event, it’s hoped that everyone will find it fun as well as interesting.

As well as learning to cook ‘the green way’, there’ll be some ‘Rubbish Soup’ to sample (it’s free!) and other refreshments (coffee, cake etc) available too.

As there is only limited parking in the village it’s hoped that people will do their bit to help the planet by walking or cycling to the event.

For anyone visiting from beyond the parish there are lots of lovely walks to Buriton from places like Petersfield or the Queen Elizabeth Country Park.
