… and making Buriton proud
On the morning of Coronation Day, 6th May 2023, a band of ringers at Buriton’s St Mary’s church rang a peal of Cambridge Surprise Minor.
Not only did they ring for a solid three hours but they achieved 8th place on Bellboard’s listing of highest-ranking peal performances over the Coronation weekend. Above them were the likes of Westminster Abbey, St Paul’s Cathedral and six other Cathedrals.
They received fantastic reviews from all in the village who had the privilege of hearing such magnificent ringing.
Concert in St Mary’s Church
An afternoon of classical music (Turina Piano Quartet in A minor Op. 67; Thompson Two Interludes for Piano Quartet; and Franck Piano Quintet in F minor).
Entrance is free, with a retiring collection in aid of the church.
Sunday 23rd April at 2:30pm in St Mary’s church, Buriton.
Come and join the merry throng.
The Liss Brass Band will be providing the music and, as usual, there will be mince pies, mulled wine and more carols in the church afterwards.
It would be helpful if people could bring their own cup for the mulled wine.
Scrumptious cream teas and cakes - from 2pm onwards.

As part of a fund raising initiative for our lovely local church, afternoon tea / cream teas are being served in The Seward Room: Sunday June 26th at St Mary’s Church, Buriton, from 2pm onwards
All welcome, come along for a chat with friends, make new friends and support the church by eating cake

There will be a nativity trail around the village between Saturday 19 and Tuesday 29 December: a lovely trail to follow, especially with children (but it’s for everyone!)
Do follow it and see if you can spot them all.
