More local history deposited in Winchester
Trustees of a local charity, set up over 300 years ago, have recently deposited many of their records at the Hampshire Records Office in Winchester.
The John Goodyer and Bishop Laney Trusts have been helping residents of Buriton and Petersfield for generations. Originally set up to help fund “scholars and apprentices” to further their education or learn a trade, the Trusts now commonly provide small grants to assist with the purchase of items required by students at local schools and colleges.
