Welcome to Buriton

Spend an enchanting evening in one of our Local Nature Reserves and emerge much wiser about the distinctive bird songs of many of our local species.

This popular event returns on Saturday 7 and Sunday 8 June from 2.00 - 6.00 on both days. A wide variety of work by local creatives in 5 venues, including the Five Bells and the Manor Barn.

Two new leaflets produced by Buriton Parish Council provide an insight into 100 million years of history - and explain how the rocks beneath us not only create the landscapes and scenery in the parish, but also influence the natural vegetation, wildlife, agriculture and industrial history of the area.

Buriton's "Village-to-Village" link with Dominase has recently delivered over 1,000 Supplementary Reading Books to hundreds of cheering schoolchildren.

The rare Cheese Snail which lives in the Buriton Chalk Pits is now celebrated in Portland Stone - and two other sculptures on this new long distance walking and cycling route can also be found in the parish.
