The unprecedented demand for wool and wheat during the Napoleonic Wars changed our local landscapes for ever.

An evening of comic song, gently mocking the British way of life. A bit of a coup for the village - and possibly one of the last chances to enjoy one of Buriton Events' evenings of fun in the Manor Barn.

We are extremely fortunate, in this Diamond Jubilee year, to have the Royal Correspondent of one of our National Newspapers living in the parish. At the autumn meeting of the Buriton Village Association, Richard Palmer will give an insight into his work - and a 'behind the scenes' look at many of the Royal events taking place during 2012.

300 years ago - on this very day - the steeple on Buriton Church was struck by lightening and burnt down. Our team of bell-ringers will be ringing the bells to mark this anniversary. They will also be giving demonstrations and providing parishioners with an opportunity to have a go.
