Gentle South Downs Giant
A giant cycle around the gently undulating lanes of the South Downs.
Three circular routes for all levels of ability: 44, 76 and 102 miles.
Buriton is just over half-way along the longest route, the 102 mile-long Giant. Cyclists will pass through Buriton from late morning onwards.

Plans for a day of festivities and fun in Buriton on Sunday 3rd June have been revealed in the Parish Magazine. And bookings are needed for the Street Party so that the organisers know how many tables and chairs to obtain.
Chalk pits truck arrives ? slowly
On a wet March morning an old truck was dragged up into the Chalk Pits from Buriton pond. For over 70 years, trucks like this had hurtled around the site - carrying chalk from the quarry faces down to the limeworks below.
Buriton's special ?Lambing Lottery? ? or ?Sheepstake?
Tickets were snapped up for Buriton's innovative 'Lambing Lottery' - to try to win attractive cash prizes. Each of the ewes at Nursted Farm had been given their own secret number and the last ones to give birth to their lambs in the spring triggered cash prizes for three lucky people.
Council encourages more kissing
Regular walkers along The Links, at Halls Hill and in Weston will have noticed that the Parish Council has been able to replace yet more awkward stiles with easy-to-use kissing gates.
