Tickets were snapped up for Buriton's innovative 'Lambing Lottery' - to try to win attractive cash prizes. Each of the ewes at Nursted Farm had been given their own secret number and the last ones to give birth to their lambs in the spring triggered cash prizes for three lucky people.
The cash prize of £30 for the last ewe to give birth was won by Jamie Lister with prizes of £20 and £10 awarded to two other lucky winners who had backed two other ewes to hang on longest.
Tickets were only £1 each (or five for a ?baa-gain? £5) and this year 12 other prizes were also on offer as organisrs included all the rams in the draw too!
Obviously, these chaps were never going to give birth at all, so there were some small but special 'booby prizes' for everyone whose ticket was one of these 'ram-don? ones: some tasty chocolate sheep!
Eaxcatly £350 was raised from the raffle with all profits going to help Buriton's work in Dominase.
