Parish Proms - a great night out
"A great evening" seems to be the overwhelming reaction to Buriton's first ever 'Parish Proms'. Held in the magnificent Manor Barn on Sunday 9 September, the event contained a mixture of humorous songs and Albert Hall favourites - something for everybody - and it provided another opportunity to wave those Union Jacks and bunting.

More great news - about loos
Over 350 children attend the Primary and Secondary Schools in Dompoase - an outlying hamlet of Dominase in rural Ghana. And, until now, they have not had anywhere private to go to the loo. Teenage girls would choose not to go to school for a few days every month; missing out on vital learning.

School "Walkathon" for Africa
Two hundred and fifty schoolchildren walked to meet together on the top of the South Downs this month in a unique celebration to mark the Olympic Games and the schools' links with rural Ghana.

Scrumptious spread at Bolinge Hill Farm
Susan Shone put on a special spread for seniors from across the parish in July - an established part of the community's annual 'Down on our farms' programme of events, open days, walks and talks.

Tennis with a twist
Even some heavy showers of rain couldn't detract from the enthusiasm of forty members of Buriton Tennis Club as they enjoyed two days of non-stop tennis.
