The organisers of Petersfield's links are keen to involve people in surrounding villages - to match the involvement across the channel.
They are wondering whether any households in Buriton might be willing to join in by hosting visitors from France in alternate years - and by travelling to France to take part in visits there...
Barentin is in the Seine-Maritime department in the Haute-Normandie region, north west of Rouen.
People in Petersfield host visitors from France every alternate year (providing free accommodation) and in the other years they get the opportunity to travel to France and stay with people there. Families with children are welcome.
There are also similar twinning links with Warendorf in the North Rhine-Westphalia district of Germany and residents in Buriton are also being invited to take part in these links.
The links started about twenty years ago, to foster and promote goodwill and friendship, linking individuals, sports clubs and other organisations, schools and companies and offering the opportunity for work placements and language learning.
The Petersfield Group already has arrangements in hand for 2016 but would welcome involvement from Buriton (and other nearby villages) to host people from France for their next visit here (three days in May 2017).
