?Plan B' for Buriton

A new plan for the parish

Buriton has always tried to look after itself.

In recent years, the community has produced a number of plans which have led to a wide range of improvements.

Each of these plans has influenced organisations like the county and district councils, the highways authorities and bus companies.

But some of the plans are a bit out of date - and we also have to work with a new body - the South Downs National Park Authority.

In May, the Parish Council called a public meeting to ask for help and a small group of volunteers stepped forward to kick off some more work.

We're calling the project Plan B!

Over the next couple of years we'll be looking to:

? update local guidelines which help planners look after our parish's special qualities

? record special buildings that contribute to the parish's character

? identify important open spaces, including countryside views

? collect your thoughts on anything else special about where we live

We'll need everyone's help.

We hope to be at the Village Show, so look out for us then and come and have a chat.

There'll also be regular updates in the Parish Magazine.

And, if you'd like to get involved in Plan B, just let us know.
