Presentations and discussion at the Annual Parish Meeting: Tuesday 19 May
As with the APM in 2014, the Parish Council is taking the opportunity to provide presentations and encourage discussions about a number of important planning matters that may affect the parish.
After some formal business, the majority of the meeting will be devoted to a Public Forum session so that three topics can be discussed:
Firstly, 'a new Plan for Buriton': Buriton's Village Design Statement was amongst the first to be produced in East Hampshire (in 2000) and it was subsequently updated in 2008 as part of the Parish Plan. As time passes it will not carry as much weight in planning applications. The Parish Council has considered this matter and has some ideas for a potential way forward, to produce a new plan for Buriton which should help the community to continue to look after the parish ?
Secondly, planning applications at Buriton Manor: There is a new planning application for changes at Buriton Manor with a deadline for comments of 22 May. Parish Councillors will describe the new proposals and explain how they differ from those that were refused last year so that parishioners can make informed comments
Thirdly, a potential allocation for additional housing in the Local Plan?: A new Local Plan for the area is being produced by the South Downs National Park Authority and details will be published for consultation later in the year. At present an allocation of eleven additional houses is being considered by the planning authority. Parish Councillors will explain the situation and the next steps in the process.
The meeting will start at 7pm in the Village Hall.
