That was the view of many of the people collecting their supplies of meat from Susan Shone at Bolinge Hill Farm in January.
Mrs Shone is one of a number of farmers in the parish of Buriton who now sell their produce directly to parishioners, family and friends.
All the beef comes fresh, butchered into portions and, vacuum packed and labelled - ready for freezing.
Susan offers 'half boxes' at £45 and 'full boxes' at £90. More details are available here: http://www.buriton.info/bolinge_hill_beef
For more information about future supplies (and to get your contact details added to Susan's circulation list) contact her at susan.j.shone@btinternet.com or on 01730 264207 / 07977 224468.
Other farms can also provide fresh meat from the parish:
- Andrew Bray of Nursted Farm can offer local lamb all neatly butchered into portions and packed ready to be eaten or frozen. Contact Andrew on andrewbray@btconnect.com (or 01730 264278) to arrange local lamb for your freezer
- Ian and Maggie Johnston usually have some frozen pork joints, chops and sausages available. Their website provides more details (www.alegateachcorner.com) or phone 01730 262293.
