The Parish Council owns the land to the rear of the war memorial and would like parishioners to design something to give thanks to all those who have helped the country in times of conflict, not just in the armed forces but also helping the war effort at home in various important ways.
Entries are sought by 11th November and design packs (which include the brief, a blank sketch of the area and two photographs) can be obtained via buritonparishcouncil@hotmail.co.uk or via 07943 536065. Applications forms are available from the Church and from the Five Bells.
Don't worry if drawing is not your thing. A description of what you would like to see will be fine. Names of designers will not be disclosed. To enter you must be a resident or currently educated within the parish.
There will be an exhibition of all the designs that meet the brief so that the community can help choose the winner.
