Petersfield Young Farmers raise over £200 for good causes by delivering tons of manure
Residents of Buriton and Petersfield took delivery of over 70 barrow loads of well rotted manure for their gardens at the end of January - helping to raise money for local activities and for families in Dominase.
"We delivered to 20 customers from Steep, through Petersfield and all around Buriton," explained organiser Gwen Woodruffe. "One lady was so impressed she doubled her order, and another gentleman gave us an extra £5 to wheel it to the bottom of his garden! Great thanks are due to our sponsors who supplied the tractor, trailer and muck: John Ellis of Froxfield," she added.
All the proceeds go to charity: split between Buriton's projects in Dominase and the Petersfield Young Farmers Club .
Petersfield Young Farmers meet in Buriton every Wednesday evening at the Five Bells. New members aged between 10 and 26 are always welcome and a new programme of activities for 2013 is now available.
A 'countrysiders' section is also available for 10 to 14 year olds, and runs once a month (6.30pm till 7.45) starting on 20th March.
