The Government has awarded over ?8 million to Hampshire County Council to improve broadband access for rural communities. But Buriton will probably only get some of the money if we do something about it.
Do you want better broadband?
If so, you should register your interest on the following web site so that your views will be counted when totals for rural areas are added up and compared http://www3.hants.gov.uk/digitalhampshire/broadband/broadband-signup.htm .
And, secondly, please make your views known to Buriton Parish Council so that it can represent collective interests to Hampshire County Council.
Please contact Wendy Shone, Parish Clerk, Black Hill Cottages, Petersfield Road, Buriton, GU31 4NL or by email to wendy@bhcs.fsnet.co.uk
So far, there has been one question asked at a Parish Council meeting and one contribution to the parish magazine on this subject. Much more is likely to be needed if Buriton is to make progress.
It would be useful to know:-
- The use that you make of broadband (e.g. email, online shopping, booking holidays or entertainment)
- Whether it is personal or professional use (e.g. working from home, freelance work, company business)
- What problems you have, improvements you need and the effect on your actual and possible use.
- What speed(s) you now get and the price you pay
- What speed you would like and the price that you would be willing to pay
- Any other points of importance to you.
