After her popular and inspirational talk in the village in February, award-winning author Michelle Magorian returned to Buriton to introduce a film adaptation of her book 'Back Home'.
The film is based on her touching book about a girl returning home to Britain after evacuation to America during the war and Michelle kindly gave a short talk at the beginning of the evening and autographed books and bookmarks at the end.
The film was shown as a Half Term holiday special in the village hall and appealed to children and adults alike.
All the proceeds from the evening were donated to Buriton's work in Dominase, West Africa. About £170 was raised which should enable scores of young children there to obtain reading books to help with their education.
Some of Michelle Magorian's novels appear on approved reading lists for schools in Ghana and she is very pleased to be able to help this cause.
