With Michael Caine and Glenda Jackson

In 2014, near-nonagenarian Bernie Jordan (Michael Caine) is sad to miss out on an official group outing to the D-Day anniversary in France. Encouraged by wife Rene (Glenda Jackson), he sneaks out from his care home and goes on one last big adventure to cross the Channel, while reminiscing about his wartime experiences.

Reviews have explained: “There’s a real emotional heft to the storytelling and Caine, at 90, is a knockout.”

This was also Glenda Jackson’s last film and the final shots of the two of them on a promenade suggest two epic acting careers that are coming to a close – and suitably, doing so hand-in-hand

PLEASE NOTE: the organisers are now monitoring attendance numbers as, should there not be a good turn out this season, the local film shows may have to cease because they have not recently been financially sustainable.

Films are shown in Buriton Village Hall near Petersfield.

Doors open at 7pm and films start at 7.30pm.

Tickets are £5 on the door – having the exact money is very helpful.

Refreshments are available before the film starts at every show.
