Disposing of your Christmas Tree – for a very good cause

New trees for old!!

Local tree surgeon and parish Tree Warden Matt Marriott is offering to chip and dispose of parishioners’ Christmas trees on Saturday 9th January from 10am to 12noon at the pond car park.

There will be a small charge of £1 per tree with all the money collected going to supplying and planting new trees in the parish.

It is important that all lights decorations and metal/plastic base fixings are removed to avoid damage to the chipper.

Matt will have created a cordoned area with a tin placed to one side for £1 payments and people will leave their trees in a designated area.  Matt will be accessing that area from the opposite side to ensure distancing and avoid contact.

Matt will be taking his own precautions and people can, of course, wear masks as well as keeping the required distances from others.

Parishioners should observe all relevant Covid rules, regulations and guidance.
